Provo River Rafting

This river offers a great rafting adventure close to Salt Lake, Park City and Provo. You float down beautiful Provo Canyon near Sundance Resort.

Full-day trips on the Provo River are not available; most trips last from an hour and a half to two hours, depending on water levels. Guided and unguided trips available. Raft rentals are available.

This stretch of river is filled with swift water and moderate rapids. The rapids aren't big but they are fun! Some are stacked almost on top of each other. The canyon's scenery adds to the experience; the river is nestled in the beautiful Provo Canyon below 11750 foot Mount Timpanogos. Be sure to scout the railroad bridge that goes over the river if you are rafting without a guide.

The short float time means each participant may paddle for the duration of the trip on the Provo. This adds to the fun, and means you are guaranteed to get wet. Inflatable Kayaks for 1 -2 persons are also a fun way to go.

Trip are available that combine a scenic train ride on the Heber Valley Railroad and rafting on the Provo River. The is also considered a Blue-Ribbon trout stream.

Multi-day trips are not available on the Provo River.

The Provo River is a great choice for families. Young children are invited to join the fun on this river. The water is mild and the scenery is stunning.

The short duration of this trip, plus its location close to Salt Lake and Park City, makes it a fine choice for group or corporate retreats. There are a limited number of outfitters that run the Provo River; check to determine if your selected outfitter can meet your group's needs.
