Spring Creek Canyon
This is an easy hike into a beautiful slot canyon located just outside the Kolob Canyons area of Zion National Park. It provides a taste of canyoneering in a relatively easy slot, in an area that is accessible. The canyon is little known, overlooked by most hikers, and so you can often find solitude here.
The canyon is a Wilderness Study Area and is closed to vehicle use, although some people illegally ride ATVs into its lower region.
Spring Creek Trailhead

Spring Creek Canyon is located about 0.8 mile south of the town of Kanarraville, just south of Cedar City. To reach the canyon mouth drive I-15 to the Kanarraville Exit, and follow main routes to the south edge of town. At 400 South Main Street, take the route that heads southeast toward the cliffs. Follow it for about 0.82 miles to the parking area and trailhead.
Narrows Section

A small stream flows from this canyon most of the year, but may dry up during the heat of summer. Follow the streambed up the canyon, along the illegal ATV track, into the narrows section, about 1.5 miles into the canyon. You will encounter minor obstacles, including boulders and small dryfalls, that you will have to climb over or move around.

You can hike this canyon for many miles, but the first 2.75 miles are the most interesting. There is a major canyon fork at that point. Both forks contain some slots but the going becomes steeper and the forks are overgrown, making hiking difficult.
