Moab is one of the most incredible destinations in the Southwest, but it isn’t necessarily the type of place you go for a relaxation vacation. In fact, the only time you should be hanging at your hotel is during a very deep, post-adventure sleep. There are just too many experiences to be had, too many crazy rock formations to behold and too many selfies to take.
With all that to do and see, the last thing you want to do is spend more time than needed on logistics. Moab Adventure Center lives to help you love Moab, and has all kinds of activities to help show off the region's beauty.
Moab is famous for its off-road terrain, but that only matters if you have something that can traverse it. (Sorry, your Subaru probably ain’t going to make the cut.) MAC's 4x4 Hummers can definitely get you to the top of Moab’s famous overlooks, and their raised rear seats provide an uninterrupted, panoramic view the whole time. Trip options include, two-hour, four-hour and sunset tours. We recommend the sunset tour for its unforgettable views and its Goldilocks-approved "just right" three-hour time.
Want to hit the open off-road on your own? Moab Adventure Center can hook you up with one of its Jeep Wranglers or Rubicons. Then, you can cruise around town, tour Arches and Canyonlands National Parks or explore one of any number of backcountry areas. The MAC guides will make sure you don't leave without plenty of maps and advice, so even inexperienced off-roaders can enjoy themselves and, you know, not get lost. They’ll even throw in a cooler stocked with ice-cold water.
Moab is pretty dang cool from the ground, but even more spectacular when seen from the air. Soar over the unique valleys and spires of this red-rock empire on a three-and-a-half-hour hot-air balloon tour. The best part? This adventure takes off at sunrise, making it somehow even more once-in-a-lifetime than it already was. (Twice in a lifetime? 0.5 times in a lifetime?)
Paddleboarding is in right now. It's cool, hip, fun, lit, fire, 100 emoji, etc. But paddleboarding on the Colorado River is next level. You’ll cruise through red-rock canyons on calmer sections of this famous whitewater mecca, taking in the same sandstone cliffs, rugged scenery and majestic wildlife as those rowdy rafters, but with a lot more relaxation and tranquility. It’s a peaceful way to explore while going at your own pace. #supdawg.
There are more than 2,000 arches in this world-famous park. You’re not going to see all of them, but Moab Adventure Center can make sure you see the most notable/accessible ones, along with other park highlights. They’ll handle the driving and geological education while you explore. It's well worth the upgrade from a DIY trip through the park.
