Whether you’re visiting Utah’s most famous mountain town for a ski trip, the Sundance Film Festival or just to get some sweet alpine air in your lungs, you’ll find no shortage of places to hang out on Main Street in Park City.
But not all vacations are created equally, and not all Park City bars and restaurants have the right vibes for you and your crew. (Especially if some members of your crew are under 21. Read up on the important difference between bars and restaurants in Utah here.) From ski bum haunts to upscale eateries, these are the best bars in Park City for every night out, along with the suggested attire to properly blend in.
It doesn’t get much closer to the slopes than The Corner Store. Located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort, The Corner Store is the spot you’re most likely to find locals toasting to an epic powder day. Catch live music or overhear PC’s version of wild fish tales. “The powder was THIS deep, bro, I swear!”
Suggested Attire: Your ski or snowboard kit, as snowy as possible.
Davanza’s isn’t technically a bar (kids are welcome and encouraged), but you wouldn’t know it from the hundreds of ‘70s era beer cans lining the walls. If you’re skiing down the Town Lift section of PCMR into — you guessed it — town, Davanza’s is the spot to go for a cold one and a slice of pizza. Authentic ski town vibes abound, courtesy of the decades-spanning photos of local ski bums and bumettes on the walls.
Suggested Attire: A neon jumpsuit — try and find a matching one on the wall.
If No Name was a cocktail, it would be equal parts cozy and fun. This PC staple is sure to warm your body and spirit after a long day in the cold. Here you’ll find a funky outdoor patio (with heaters), an antique working belt fan and endless pub grub (try the chili bowl!). You may even find … love. The Bachelorette filmed an episode there in 2018, and that couple stayed together for almost two entire years. You’re bound to be next.
Suggested Attire: On their date, Becca wore a red puffy jacket, while Garrett sported a hybrid vest/sweatshirt combo in navy. So wear that.
If you’re fantasizing about ski-bumming in the mountains for a winter, allow O'Shucks to be your litmus test. Because it’s not all glitz and glamor, but that might be just how you like it! O’Shucks is the dive bar for locals, with good vibes and some of the most affordable food and drink on Main Street. Enjoy the outdoor patio full of friends you haven’t met yet, on two legs or four!
Suggested Attire: A beanie that’s barely on your head.
There are plenty of spots to find live music in Park City, but few can match the energy of The Spur’s back bar on a weekend night. A hot spot for local acts, this hip but rustic bar serves up plenty of fun, dancing and singalongs. And if you’d rather have a quieter night, the restaurant area has some of the best burgers in town.
Suggested Attire: Dancin’ shoes. Bonus points if they’re cowboy boots.
You might not expect a bonafide night club in the heart of the mountains, but that’s what you’ll get at Downstairs, Park City’s bumping nighttime hotspot. There are DJ sets here most nights, so if you’re looking for a party, Downstairs is a no brainer. The real question is how to make your puffy winter jacket part of your cool clubbing outfit.
Suggested Attire: A cool puffy jacket clubbing outfit.
If The Spur is the cozy place to catch a local band and Downstairs is the trendy place to go for a DJ Set, The Cabin is somewhere in between. Formerly a local après hub by the Town Lift, The Cabin recently moved up the hill to the heart of downtown. Here you’ll find concerts and DJs in one section and delicious dinner in the other. Win win.
Suggested Attire: Your nicest flannel. Perfect for dinner and a show.
If the High West Saloon was a cowboy, it would be the kind with a gold plated saddle and diamond spurs. And if you said “This town ain’t big enough for the two of us,” they’d suggest some lovely rental properties nearby. This upscale yet decidedly rustic bar and restaurant is the downtown home of High West Whiskey, a Utah staple. If its signature spirits pique your interest, take a free tour of their mountain distillery further up the highway in Wanship.
Suggested Attire: Think Kevin Costner in Yellowstone.
Just how fancy is the restaurant/bar at Deer Valley’s illustrious St. Regis Hotel? Well, for starters, you have to ride a funicular just to get up there. Which means you have to learn what a funicular is (answer: fancy gondola/train thing). With a luxurious interior and a spacious outdoor patio that overlooks the slopes, there’s no better spot to grab a fancy cocktail and stick that pinky waaaaaay out.
Suggested Attire: Your fanciest attire, whether that’s a nice shirt or a full Mr. Monopoly getup.
If it’s a lovely day for a Guinness, as their toucan (or two-can) mascot would say, head to Flanagan’s. This authentic Irish pub is a cozy spot to settle in with some friends after a cold day of skiing, adventuring, shopping or, ya know, anything. It’s also classified as a restaurant, so the wee lads and lasses can enjoy it too.
Suggested Attire: A kilt.
If you’re a fan of craft beer or a delicious meal (you’ve gotta like at least one of those things, right?), the trip up Main Street will be worth the hike with Wasatch Brew Pub waiting for you at the top. The oldest brewpub in the state, Wasatch has been treating travelers and locals alike since 1986. That might not sound like that long ago, but it’s all about perspective. For instance, 1986 is a very long time ago if you’re the New York Mets or the Chicago Bears.
Suggested Attire: A New York Mets or Chicago Bears jersey.
On any given Sunday in the winter, you’re likely to see plenty of folks on the slopes at Deer Valley and Park City skiing in their football jerseys. And later in the day, there’s a good chance you’ll catch all those folks at Collie’s. With a great selection of food and drink, a screen for every team and fans from all around the country rooting for different teams, it’s the best atmosphere in town on game day.
Suggested Attire: A New York Mets or Chicago Bears jersey. Other teams are also acceptable.
